Welcome to the Wellbeing moments recharge stations.

These stations provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in Wellbeing  and help ground you in our wellbeing science anchor at the foundation of our refreshed health and wellbeing agenda that we call Wellbeing For Generations.

In this video, you’ll be introduced to the science of Wellbeing and why it is important for you, all associates, our culture, our brands and for us as a reputable business leader.

As you watch, please take note of how you can infuse Wellbeing into your personal life and your work.

0.45 – 2.25

As an industry leader, we have a Health & Wellness strategy… and have made progress… Yet, we are behind.

2020 was an inflection point that redefined happy, healthy, and well… at seemingly every intersection of value.

External data shows that since early 2019 people all over the world are redefining what’s important to them – with Mental wellness now side by side with physical wellness.

Therefore – People are seeking a holistic approach to better meet their immediate needs in everyday moments … as well as noticing more if their choices help make a positive social contribution.

And we see similar trends across external stakeholder groups such as public health leaders to industry activists bringing voice to mental and physical health while managing the finite resources of the planet.

The food industry is at a pivotal moment with unprecedented challenges that must be tackled simultaneously – hunger, chronic disease, obesity, and mental illness – while drastically reducing damage to the environment.

The interconnected ecosystem of personal, public, and industry demands has prompted a call for collaboration and partnership to address these complex societal challenges.

More is expected from us as a leading global company. More is expected from our Brands who influence cultures around the world.

The power of our brands, the scale of our business, and our principles-based approach gives us a strong foundation to continue to be socially caring, globally empathetic, environmentally and fiscally sustainable.

2.26 – 3.55

As the Wellbeing COE, in partnership with leaders across the company, aligned the external reality to our internal reinvention strategy … we recognized a need to refresh our strategy to be more human centric, outside in, and future back;  enabling a more systemic ecosystem view to our actions.

We call our strategic refresh  “Wellbeing for Generations”, calling upon us to be more intentional as leaders to increase our societal impact over the next 10 years.  We are asking all Associates to advance our collective abilities to…

  • Design delightful fit-for-future products and services
  • Champion authentic and resilient connections
  • Advocate for equitable communities and cultures
  • Inspire mindful action via immersive experiences
  • Illuminate interdependency of people and planet

Wellbeing For Generations is anchored in wellbeing science that we will bring to life through our people, our culture, and our brands…asking ourselves how can inspire mindset shifts, change behaviors, and deliver on a more holistic definition of happy, healthy, and well.

Our intent is to transform the role that snacking plays in driving meaningful impact in people’s lives.

3.56 – 4.46

So why wellbeing science as our anchor?

Simply put, Wellbeing is defined as our innate capacity to thrive.

Wellbeing science goes far beyond nutrition and physical health (diets, exercise, appearance) to improve quality of life and personal fulfillment (mindsets, purpose, connection, community).

Infusing wellbeing in all we do starts with understanding the science better.

And will continue to build our reputation with outside stakeholders.

For instance, as a reminder, one of our largest stakeholder is the World Health Organization who defines health as “…a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.“

4.47 – 6.29

Imagine our impact when we better understand and bring intention to act with each dimension.

Each dimension matters- all are individually powerful and, when combined, uplift our ability to thrive at the individual, business, industry and societal level.

Rooted in research, we chose an established wellbeing model with eight dimensions that are key to an individual’s overall wellbeing.  As the future of work is more integrated with how we live, research is showing this model also applied to societal & planetary wellbeing.

Our company already significantly invests in our wellbeing at work — financial, spiritual and occupational wellbeing – which gives us a unique head start.

As we think about our reinvention and the growth of our portfolio driving impact through products, services, experiences and industry leadership – we are leaning into the five dimensions of physical, environmental, educational, emotional & social that can help us inspire moments in ways consumers want and expect.

Three of these dimensions are core to human- centric experiences – physical, emotional, and social wellbeing – and will be incorporated into our approach in a way that helps us increase our impact on external societal challenges.

Let’s pause for a moment.  Take some time to familiarize yourself with the 8 dimensions and imagine the shifts as we infuse our own wellbeing into how we collaborate, support each other, and innovate within the business.

6.30 – 7.19

We have hope and have set our sights on a future in which people, planet and society are thriving, and where future generations are healthy, happy and well.

Change is now and it starts with each one of us. We have a responsibility to do our part, and that’s precisely why we’re approaching the decade ahead with a more collaborate holistic view of wellbeing than we’ve ever had before.

It is based on the mere knowing that the quality of our being will unlock the quality of our doing.

As individuals & associates and collectively as a business, every action we take creates a ripple effect.

When you make a choice to improve your wellbeing it is highly likely that those around you will, too.

7.20 – 8.34

Bold Solutions for Big challenges require the power of collaboration.

We invite you to join us on this journey towards Wellbeing – starting with a focus on your own learning.

Reflect on the Wellbeing science and ask yourself:

  • Where have I focused? What have I put aside? Why?
  • How can I positively impact myself to reach a goal?  How might I apply that to my business tasks?
  • How might I take a small step today that can become a habit for lasting impact?

To help you kick start your wellbeing journey, we have curated activities across all dimensions to help you familiarize yourself with each of the dimensions and their role in your wellbeing.  They are small, manageable actions that you can take today!

We invite you to visit the Recharge stations throughout this week to take one positive step each day towards Wellbeing.

And do not forget to join the plenary session with Dondeena Bradley to learn more about the Mars Wrigley Wellbeing for Generations plan that is unfolding.  We definitely need your help to make it stronger and even better.

8.35 – 9.31

That is why we are asking for you to get involved!

We are launching a bold new vision… and we recognize it’s a new way to think about our impact and will rely heavily on collaboration to succeed.

We are asking everyone to become ambassadors of Wellbeing in the organization.

It starts with us and our actions… creating a ripple effect that continues to bring more understanding and impact.

As a wellbeing coach once reminded us, be mindful of this — Be. Do. Say.   Your being will fuel your doing … which elevates your voice.

If we all become mindful of Be, Do, Say – truly our collective well-being, will fuel well-doing for future generations.

And join our movement!  Wellbeing for Generations
